2020 Birth Image Competition Winners Announced (IAPBP)
Updated: May 4
Take a look at these amazing, breath-taking images portraying the warrior strength
of women through Labor, Delivery & Postpartum. Birth Photography is no doubt changing the world, and setting new expectations for how women (and families) should be treated and honored.
Motherhood isn't for the faint of heart and in these real-life images you will see the tsunami of power that transforms women into mothers, and couples into parents through the process of childbirth.

I am proud to be among such talented colleages and a proud member of the International Association of Birth Photographers. This year as the organization celebrates the competition's 10th anniversary, they are partnering with Mother Health International and a portion of the proceeds from the entry fees will be donated to @motherhealthinternational to help fund the resources necessary to continue making a difference in the lives of women in Northern Uganda and around the world. Congratulations to all the winners, and honorable mentions including some of our own local talent. And a shout out to the outstanding pannel of judges & everyone who worked so hard to make this a success.
In preparation for the submission I sorted through all the Birth Hour images from this year and my heart was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for each family who opened their hearts, homes and birthing spaces to me and allowed me to hold space for them at one of the most important days of their lives. (Below are just a few shared with permission, of course!)
Thank You....This is a tribute to your strength!
